Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B may be cooking up something really special. Megan recently sat down with Complex and shared that she and the Bronx rapper might be working on a joint project together.
"I feel like I’m in a space where I know exactly what songs I want her to do for me. So we’re really building a little EP already," Megan told the outlet.
She also noted that they would be hitting the road after dropping the collab album together. Even if a joint project doesn't come into fruition, Megan said that they are "making enough music to already have that."
Recently, Megan joined Cardi on "Bongos" which the two performed live for the first time at the 2023 VMAs last week. The rappers previously worked together on "WAP" in 2020, which topped the Billboard Hot 100.
What To Expect From Megan Thee Stallion Solo
Megan also spoke about her own music and what fans are to be expecting. She said that she is currently in an "amazing headspace." She said this new project will represent a "new chapter " in her life, and she can't wait for the "Hotties" to listen to it.
This is good to hear since earlier this year she told fans that they can expect new music when she is in a "better place." She was referencing to the PTSD she experienced due to her legal conflict with Tory Lanez. "The music and entertainment industry can be a grind. So, it’s important to take time off and avoid burning out," she continued. "Life is all about balance."
Back in July, she gave fans an update about her music process when she uploaded a video of herself. In the video, she was in the studio. "I’m back in that mode. It’s that time," she wrote on the video post.
Hip-hop made its presence known at the 2023 MTV VMAs on Tuesday (Sept. 12). Nicki Minaj pulled double duty as both a "host" and performer. ( According to a source at MTV familiar with the awards show, no one can labeled as a "host" because of the Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strikes.) Diddy won the Global Icon Award for his three-decade career in the music industry.
Jungkook and Latto's "Seven" won Song of the Summer. In that category for hip-hop and R&B were also Nicki and Ice Spice's "Barbie World," Beyoncé's "Cuff It," Doja Cat's "Paint The Town Red," SZA's "Kill Bill," Gunna's "f**umean," and Doechii and Kodak Black's "What It Is (Block Boy)."
Ice Spice came out on top with her win for "Best New Artist." The Bronx-bred rapper has been working hard all year as she released her first EP Like..? as well as its deluxe edition. She also worked with Nicki Minaj twice this year on her "Princess Diana" remix and on "Barbie World" for the Barbie film.
