Murphy will produce alongside Bruckheimer and Chad Oman, who is also associated with Jerry Bruckheimer Films. The film is directed by Mark Molloy,
The first Beverly Hills Cop was released in 1984. After the popularity of its first film, it spawned two additional installments in 1987 and 1994, which cemented Murphy’s status as a film star.
Murphy went on to star in Coming to America, which had a sequel released in 2021, Daddy Day Care, Norbit, The Nutty Professor, and more. His most recent film, Candy Cane Lane, dropped on Dec. 1.
