Ice Spice Previews New Song At Coachella
As most fans are aware, in 2024 we will finally get a full project from the "People's Princess." She previewed a new song that will be on her debut album Y2K during her set.
"[Bitches] be losing the plot & that’s how I got to the top & NO I don’t got any opps/ Like why would I beef with a flop," the 24-year-old wrote in a post on X. "Like let’s talk drill!! Who bigger than she?!! Who prettier too?!!!/ 250 to GET IN THE BOOTH,” she added.
The song seemingly samples Sean Paul’s 2005 hit "Gimme The Light."
Spice has an ongoing beef with Latto and it seems as though the rapper subbed her once again in the snippet. The Atlanta native came for the "Munch" rapper on "Sunday Service."
"Do you rap or do you tweet? ‘Cause I can’t tell, get in the booth, bitch/ Stop all that motherf-----’ yellin’, h-- ’cause I ain’t buyin’ what you’re sellin’, h--/ Think I’m the s---? Bitch, I know it, h--, Jesus walked on water, I got ice boilin’ though," Latto raps.
The Latest Update On Ice Spice's Y2K
"Y2K" is the abbreviation for Year 2000, which is fitting for the Bronx drill artist: she was born on January 1, 2000. On social media, the rapper posted two photos of herself wearing a signature mini skirt, orange fro, and a lollipop with the caption, "I finished recording y2k the album."
In January, she confirmed that there is a project in the works during her interview with The Today Show.
"Yes, there’s gonna be an album," Ice Spice told co-hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager. "I’m so excited."
She added that she had "a crazy collaboration that just got locked in, like two days ago" at the time.
Ice Spice first teased the project back in November when she posted a photo of herself with a tattoo on her lower back. While the exact meaning of the tattoo is unknown, the caption read, "?/?/24."
Right now, there is no official release date for the album, but she told Billboard that she's proud of what she has so far for the album.
"I think this is some of my best work," the rapper teased.
