Halle Bailey: The Little Mermaid We’ve Been Waiting For

On May 26, Halle Bailey will do us the honor of gracing the silver screen in the Rob Marshall remake of The Little Mermaid.

There were some reservations among fans about Disney’s main character casting choice in this version initially. There was even a bit of an uproar about casting a Black Ariel. Still, Miss Bailey persevered and her Hollywood premiere of The Little Mermaid was everything we all love about Disney and Black Girls combining their respective magic to create.

Generally it takes up to 90 days but The Little Mermaid will be available to watch on Disney+, they have not given us that official release date yet though. I can’t wait to take my little mermaid to see this, despite knowing that she’s going to want every Little Mermaid product I can buy going forward.
