Lil Wayne made his mark in hip-hop, while undeniably ruling the 2000s and 2010s era, and giving the genre two of rap’s biggest stars: Drake and Nicki Minaj. The NOLA native had his solo breakthrough debut with his 1999 album The Block Is Hot. He increased his fan base with his fourth album Tha Carter (2004) and Tha Carter II (2005). He also famously is the CEO of Young Money Entertainment where both Drake and Nicki Minaj began their careers paving the way for the next generation of hip-hop. In his career, Wayne has earned five Grammys and 27 nominations for his efforts.
