DAILY UPDATE: 31 New Positive COVID-19 Cases in Cumberland County; 259 Overall
Cumberland County Public Health officials announced that the county now has 259 confirmed positive cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19). That’s an increase of 31 positive test results from Tuesday.

The Department of Public Health reports there are 259 total positive COVID-19 cases involving Cumberland County residents, an increase of 31 from Tuesday. To date, eight Cumberland County residents have died from complications associated with the coronavirus.
The Public Health Department is monitoring the patients and identifying close contacts who may be affected. Staff will notify any contacts who fall under the guidelines for additional monitoring and testing. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) defines a “close contact” as being within 6 feet for 10 minutes or more.
The average age for positive cases is 44 and 52% are female. Aggregate data is posted on the County’s dashboard at co.cumberland.nc.us/covid19, including a zip code map.
