Jazmine Sullivan Returns With New Single ‘Lost One’
Jazmine Sullivan is back! On Friday (Aug. 28), the R&B singer released her new single “Lost One.” On Friday, Sullivan also took to Instagram to thank everyone “for the love” that’s been shown for the somber track.
“THANK U EVERYONE FOR THE LOVE SO FAR! I know “lost one” is hella stripped n short. It just felt like the most appropriate offering from the EP considering everything that’s happening these days!” Sullivan explained on the social media platform.
“In an instant, especially now we could all lose the closest people to us. Make sure they know how u feel! Make sure u appreciate them while they’re here!! Tho this song is abt an ended relationship, it makes me think of all the people I’ve lost throughout the years. So I’d like to dedicate it to them.” The singer also tagged a few of her friends that passed in the post.
“Just don’t have too much fun without me / Please don’t forget about me / Try not to love no one,” Jazmine Sullivan sings on the track. The melancholy song is a post-breakup jam about not wanting a former lover to move on.
It’s been almost six years since Sullivan’s last offering, 2015’s Reality Show, which earned the singer critical acclaim. The album also garnered Sullivan a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Album.
