Summer Walker Teases New EP After Grammy Snub
Summer Walker is over it. After being left out of the nominations yet again by the Recording Academy, the R&B songstress is on to better thangs. The Atlanta native was snubbed yet again after dropping her sophomore LP Still Over It last November, where it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Shortly after the nominations were announced for the 2023 Grammy ceremony she went to her finsta account and expressed her frustration.
“& as for the grammys for a 2nd time, the math is literally not mathing…” she captioned. “I was gone post some numbers but it’s ok, at least the streets fuq with me. y’all always pack out every show & support every time I drop so thanks for the love I do receive.”
“Thanks for all the overflowing love in my DM’s,” Walker added with a heart emoji.

Now, the singer has decided to focus on music that she wants to make versus music that trends. “Now that I know these award shows gone play me regardless ima go back to making the soul music that I love,” the “Unloyal” singer wrote on Instagram Tuesday (Nov. 29). “EP coming soon.”

To be technical, the singer is up for a Grammy but just not for a lead performance. She guest featured on Kendrick Lamar’s “Purple Hearts” alongside Ghostface Killah. “Purple Hearts” is from Lamar’s latest LP Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, which dropped in May. He is nominated for “Album Of The Year,” so if he wins it’s possible that Walker will get a Grammy for her contribution.
