Jonathan Majors To Play Dennis Rodman In ’48 In Vegas’
Jonathan Majors is booked and busy. Fresh off the release of Creed III, he’s been cast to play former NBA star Dennis Rodman in a new film. 48 In Vegas follows the Bulls legend’s impromptu trip to Sin City during the 1997-1998 season.
Majors spoke about preparing to portray the eccentric NBA star. “Hopefully, I get to sit with him and chat with him when we get closer and [are] trying to get the script right,” Majors told the Associated Press of Rodman. “All these things, all these industry things. I never really put a ceiling on myself, but this is definitely a role where I’m pushing that ceiling out. Because he demands that. He’s such a full individual, so he’s going to demand a lot and I have to figure out how to get that.”

The trip was documented in ESPN’s Last Dance. Michael Jordan who was Rodman’s teammate at the time talked about the incident on episode three of the docuseries.
“I’m looking at [head coach] Phil [Jackson], ‘You ain’t gonna get that dude back in 48 hours. I don’t care what you say. He’s done.’ He leaves that room, goes straight to the airport, boom! We don’t hear or see Dennis for 48 hours,” Jordan said.
Rodman’s girlfriend at the time, actress Carmen Electrca also recalled the wild two days on episode four.
“I do remember being in Vegas with him. It was on,” Electra said. “The party was starting right away. One thing about Dennis — he had to escape. He liked to go out. He liked to go to clubs. We’d go to his favorite restaurant. Then we’d go to a nightclub. Then we’d go to after hours. It didn’t stop.”
Rodman is listed as one of the film’s executive producers, but a release date has yet to be announced.
