On Saturday, September 14, 2024, the Cumberland County Department of Public Health invites you and your family to the third annual Fun In the Sun Health, Wellness and Safety Fair.
This FREE event will take place from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Cumberland County Department of Public Health located at 1235 Ramsey Street in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
As part of the “Vaccines For Children” program, your school kids in grades K through 12 can receive FREE back-to-school immunizations. Please arrive early in order to be served. Parents, be sure to bring your identification card along with your insurance card and also an immunization record if you have one.
A big thanks to The Barber Kings who will be providing FREE haircuts to school kids during the event.
Kelly P. Smith, Administrative Assistant III to the Public Health Director says “we are especially excited to be offering Hands On CPR training at this event this year. It is a new and simple training – and anyone that takes the class, which is very short – will get certified and get a certificate.”
Thanks also to Goshen Medical Center who will be providing FREE sports physicals and EKG’s during the event.
Smith also says “on stage we will have Stephanie with Dancing without Sin Zumba, The Tokay Steppers, as well as Karate performances. Inside the Auditorium we will offer Bingocize for the Elderly which is a combo of playing bingo while exercising – a great way to have fun and be active at the same time.”
The goal of the annual Fun In the Sun Health Wellness and Safety Fair is to encourage kids to get active, stay healthy and make good choices.
On site at the Fun In the Sun Health, Wellness and Safety Fair will be a number of information booths covering health, safety and wellness. There will also be various entertainment including a mobile deejay and various short informational sessions about vaping, naloxone and breastfeeding.
Make sure to visit the many vendor tables that will be present in the parking lot and inside of the Cumberland County Department of Public Health. Make sure to sign up for the free door prizes to be given away. In order to win, you must be present at the time of the drawing.
