Carowinds Adding 2 New Camp Snoopy Rides, Says Farewell to Three Classic Favorites in Charlotte
Two new rides are coming to Camp Snoopy at Carowinds in Charlotte in 2025, making it the park’s biggest family expansion ever. Kids will race through Snoopy’s Racing Railway, a fast steel coaster reaching speeds of 31 mph, while families can soak each other at Charlie Brown’s River Raft Blast using water cannons.
And according to the park, three beloved rides will say goodbye to make room for what’s coming. Drop Tower has thrilled riders with its 174-foot plunge at 56 mph since 1996. Nighthawk, which opened in 2004, lets riders experience flying face-down. The old-school Scream Weaver has been spinning riders since its opening in 1979.
“We’re excited to introduce the latest adventures in Camp Snoopy in 2025,” said Manny Gonzalez, vice president and general manager for Carowinds, to Carowinds.com. “Our re-imagined Camp Snoopy will allow families to ride and play together, immersing them in a summer camp experience with the Peanuts gang.” Six Flags Entertainment Corporation plans to put $1 billion into upgrading its 42 parks over two years. This follows the trend of other parks working to improve their visitors’ experiences.
Kids will find new ways to beat the heat in custom-built splash areas. There’s also going to be a new spot where little ones can meet their favorite Peanuts characters in person. Keep an eye out for news about an exciting water attraction coming in 2026. More information will be released in summer 2025.
