Nicki Minaj & Kim Petras To Collab On New Single ‘Alone’
Nicki Minaj and Kim Petras are gearing up for a new single titled “Alone.” On Thursday (April 6), the pop singer announced the surprise collab, writing, “‘Alone’ feat. @nickiminaj out 4/21” on Instagram.
In the accompanying video, Petras is sitting down at a large dining table where she she is seen answering a baby pink rotary phone. When the phone rings, Petras does a lip-sync over Nicki’s voice saying, “Yeah! It’s Barbie and it’s Kim Petras!” over a sample of Alice Deejay’s 1998 club classic “Better Off Alone.”
“Alone” follows “brr” which the German pop singer dropped in January. Petras had a groundbreaking year thus far as she was awarded her first Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for her feature on Sam Smith’s “Unholy.” The record was a historic win as she was the first trans artist to win a Grammy.
As for Nicki Minaj, the Queens native dropped “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” last month. The record seemingly called out Megan Thee Stallion.

Nicki rapped, “700 on them horses when we fixin’ to leave/ But I don’t fuck with horses since Christopher Reeve” and “That .40 cal a make ’em dance like a go-go,” which could be in reference to Tory Lanez allegedly shooting Megan in the foot while shouting, “Dance, bitch, dance!”
“Red Ruby Da Sleeze” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Rap Songs chart.
While hearing that Nicki will be featured on Kim Petras’ upcoming single is great, fans are still waiting for the Pink Friday creator to drop her fifth studio album. The rapper teased that the project will be coming soon back in November.
“The fifth album,” she told I-D mag when they asked what is in the works for the near future. “I’m not gonna say when it’s gonna come out, but the album will be out soon.” Nicki’s forthcoming album will be the follow-up to her 2018 Queens LP, which included “Chun-Li,” “Rich Sex,” “FEFE.”
