Founder of the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Janelle Hail, is trying to make mammograms accessible to all women. In 1980, Janelle was diagnosed with breast cancer. During that time, there wasn’t a lot of information about the disease. In order to help other women, she decided to dedicate her life to helping other women to become more educated about the disease as well as the benefits of early detection.

The National Breast Cancer Foundation website states that there is a percentage of uninsured women that are unable to afford screening test. Since early detection can help save a life, many of these women have a higher risk of passing away from the disease.
One of the main goals of the foundation is so providing free mammograms to women in all 50 states. The mammograms are provided through a series of hospitals. Aside from the free mammograms, the foundation also educates people about the disease.
In order to keep their program running, they look to the supporters to donate money. Donations “help and inspires hope to those affected by breast cancer through early detection, education, and support services in all 50 states.” 85% of their spending goes to providing mammograms and support to those in need.
