Someone in Fayetteville Won $2 Million in Powerball Drawing
Somebody out there in Fayetteville is a millionaire now, as a $2 million winning ticket for Monday’s North Carolina Education Lottery Powerball drawing was sold here in town.
While the winner has not come forward to claim their prize with NC Education Lottery officials yet, the $2 million ticket was sold at the Harris Teeter on Raeford Road. It’s the largest prize won in Monday’s drawing nationwide.
The main Powerball jackpot is still open, as nobody has it since Valentine’s Day. That’ll make the jackpot for Wednesday night’s drawing approximately $454 million!
The $2 million winner in Fayetteville was a $3 ticket that matched all five white balls in the multi-state Powerball, and captured the Power Play prize of $2 million. The winner will have 180 days to claim their winnings. Their odds of winning were 1 in 11.6 million.
Players can buy Powerball tickets at any lottery retail location, through Online Play on the lottery’s website or by using the NC Lottery Official Mobile App.
